The Papyrus Plant

These plants have many uses, one of which is to write.

They have feathery crowns shaped like sun rays of light.

Under the scorching heat of the Egyptian sun,

Triangular stems of the plants are sliced,

Then, dampened, aligned, and pressed,

Before waiting until the drying process is done.

The result is an artist's canvas to tell stories and dreams.

So, centuries later, we may know their routines.
